These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Confession, a platform for anonymous and public discussions.
Please read them carefully. They define your rights, responsibilities, and the limits of our liability.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Confession, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the platform.
You must be at least 18 years old to use Confession.
2. Description of Service
Confession is a user-generated content platform that allows users to:
- Post anonymous or identifiable content
- Comment and reply to posts
- Join and participate in groups
- Interact through reactions, saves, and follows
Posts and comments are automatically screened for objectionable language before they are published. Content may include personal opinions, experiences, or sensitive material.
3. User Accounts and Responsibility
- You are responsible for all activity under your account
- You must provide accurate information where required
- You may not impersonate others
- You must secure your login credentials
4. Anonymous Posting Disclaimer
Confession allows anonymous posting. However:
- We may internally associate content with your account
- Anonymity is not absolute or guaranteed in all situations
- We may disclose information if legally required
5. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree NOT to use the platform to:
- Post illegal, abusive, or harmful content
- Harass, threaten, or target individuals or groups
- Spread misinformation or impersonate others
- Upload malicious code or exploit vulnerabilities
- Spam or manipulate platform engagement
Zero tolerance. Confession has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. This includes sexual content, hate speech, harassment, threats, bullying, and content that identifies or targets private individuals.
Any post or comment can be reported, and any user (including an anonymous poster) can be blocked, directly in the app. Reported content is removed from the reporter's feed immediately. We review every report within 24 hours, remove content that violates these Terms, and permanently ban the account that posted it. You can also report abuse by emailing support@confession.et.
6. Content Moderation
We reserve full discretion to:
- Remove or restrict content
- Limit visibility (including shadow restrictions)
- Suspend or ban users
These actions may occur without prior notice and are final.
7. Groups and Community Spaces
Users may create and manage groups. Group admins may:
- Control membership
- Moderate content
- Change visibility (public/private)
We are not responsible for group-level moderation decisions.
8. User Content and License
You retain ownership of your content. However, by posting, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:
- Display and distribute your content
- Modify formatting for platform use
- Promote content within the service
9. Platform Interactions
Interactions such as likes, comments, saves, and follows are part of the platform’s functionality and may be visible to others.
10. Account Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or pose risk to the platform.
You may delete your account at any time. Some data may persist for legal or operational reasons.
11. No Warranty
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We make no guarantees regarding:
- Accuracy of content
- Availability or uptime
- Security or error-free operation
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Confession shall not be liable for:
- User-generated content
- Interactions between users
- Indirect or consequential damages
13. Indemnification
You agree to defend and indemnify Confession against claims arising from:
- Your content
- Your misuse of the platform
- Your violation of these Terms
14. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the platform means you accept the updated Terms.
